PowerShot G10
Canon's PowerShot G10 is the new flagship model for the PowerShot range of digital cameras, successor to the G9. Improvements come in the form of a new 14.7 megapixel CCD sensor, a new 28-140mm wide zoom, increased screen resolution, and a DIGIC IV processor. The G10 is the first PowerShot G-Series to offer wide-angle imaging via a 5x (28mm) zoom with optical Image Stabilizer. This new capability is perfect for landscapes, architecture or interiors.

With the increase in megapixels combined with the new DIGIC 4 processor, one should expect higher image quality. The DIGIC 4 processor allows new capabilities such as Face Detection, Servo AF, Face Detection Self-Timer, and Intelligent Contrast Correction. These features are probably more important to snapshot-camera users as manual enthusiasts tend to want to have more control over their photos, and they are the ones that tend to buy the G-series cameras.
The only real benefits the G10 has over the G9 is greater image quality and wider angle coverage, however that took away some of its zoom. The only other major difference between the two models is the resolution of the LCD screen and the movie capture specs, G9: VGA 30fps 1024x768 15fps while the G10: VGA 30fps.
